How to make your family planner

  1. Add your family. Choose 2–6 columns and type a name for each person. The column headers update as you type.
  2. Pick the month and year. The current month is selected by default, and you can plan ahead into next year.
  3. Choose paper and layout. Select US Letter or A4, then landscape (best for bigger families) or portrait. Start the week on Sunday or Monday.
  4. Make it yours. Choose checkboxes, writing lines or blank cells, and add flowers, shapes or stars to the header if you like.
  5. Print or download. Click Generate PDF to download a clean PDF, or Print to send the page straight to your printer. The PDF has no buttons or menus, only your calendar.

For the best result, print at 100% scale (“Actual size”). The whole month always fits on one page.

Family planning tips that actually stick

Hang it where everyone looks

The fridge, the hallway or next to the key hooks. A planner that's seen every day is a planner that's used.

Have a Sunday check-in

Spend five minutes each week adding practices, appointments, school events and who's driving.

Give kids their own column

Children love ticking the checkbox when homework, music practice or chores are done. It builds routines without nagging.

Color-code with markers

Use one color for school, one for sports and one for family time. Busy days are easy to spot at a glance.

Frequently asked questions

Is the family calendar planner really free?

Yes. You can customize, print and download as many family planners as you like. There is no sign-up, no watermark and nothing to install.

How many family members can I add?

You can add 2 to 6 columns. Each column gets its own name and pastel color. Landscape orientation is recommended for 5 or 6 people, because it gives each column more writing space.

Will the whole month fit on one page?

Yes. Every month, from 28-day Februaries to 31-day months, fits on a single US Letter or A4 page in both landscape and portrait. The rows scale automatically.

How do I save the calendar as a PDF?

Click “Generate PDF” to download a ready-made PDF file right away. You can also click “Print” and choose “Save as PDF” as the printer in the print dialog.

What paper size should I use?

Choose US Letter (8.5 × 11 in) if you are in the US or Canada and A4 elsewhere. The planner is laid out for the exact paper size you pick, so it prints at 100% scale without cropping.

Can I start the week on Monday?

Yes. Switch “Start week on” to Monday. A darker line marks the start of each week, so it is easy to see your weeks at a glance.

Is my information stored anywhere?

No. The names you type stay in your own browser (saved locally so your settings are remembered next time). Nothing is sent to our servers, and the PDF is created on your device.
